Preformed Thermoplastic Markings for Commercial Projects

Precision Pavement Solutions installs preformed thermoplastic pavement markings for commercial sites and construction projects where this material is specified.

Preformed thermoplastic is supplied in manufactured marking shapes or sections and installed using the appropriate heating and application process.

PPS provides preformed thermoplastic installation, not hot-applied extruded thermoplastic striping.

What Thermoplastic Markings Can You Install?

Depending on the product and project specifications, preformed thermoplastic can be used for:

  • Directional arrows
  • Stop bars
  • STOP lettering
  • Crosswalk markings
  • Pavement symbols
  • Other specified pavement legends

The material, dimensions and installation method must match the approved project requirements. See our full range of pavement markings and stenciling.

What Is the Difference Between Paint and Preformed Thermoplastic?

Traffic paint is applied as a liquid coating to create lines, symbols and other markings.

Preformed thermoplastic is a manufactured marking material that is positioned on the pavement and installed using heat according to the product requirements.

Material selection depends on the project specifications, pavement conditions, expected use and other site factors. Our guide compares paint vs thermoplastic pavement markings in more detail.

Do You Install Hot-Applied Thermoplastic Striping?

No. PPS’s thermoplastic service is limited to preformed thermoplastic markings.

If a project specifies hot-applied thermoplastic line striping, that requirement should be identified during estimating so the scope can be clarified.

Can You Install Preformed Thermoplastic on Any Pavement?

Not necessarily. Surface type, condition, cleanliness, moisture and the manufacturer’s installation requirements affect suitability.

Some applications may require additional surface preparation or a compatible primer.

We review the project specifications and intended product before installation.

Can You Include Thermoplastic in a New Construction Proposal?

Yes. PPS can include specified preformed thermoplastic markings alongside parking lot layout, painted pavement markings and related site items.

Send the civil drawings, marking schedule and material specifications for review.
